MBTA april fools So, once again, I failed to update my t-pass before the first of the month and was relegated to standing in one of several lines at the first level of hell (porter station sub level 1). It looks like the MBTA was playing april fools, not only did it fail to read my credit card, but it waited until after I had actually swiped it (it then paused a minute to lull me into thinking that it had read my card, and then promptly cancelled my transaction.
I tried this twice before being herded through the overflow gate by the nearest MBTA official.

Chuck Norris Birthday??? As I am sure you are all aware, its Chuck's birthday. But in realizing this I wondered, Is Chuck Norris still cool? I mean, he did support Mike Huckabee, I need your thoughts. Also can he still be cool if the Boston Globe is quoting "Norris"-isms on its web-page? http://www.boston.com/ae/movies/gallery/chucknorris/ | | Monday, December 24th, 2007 | | 9:11 am |

Steampunk Mod So anyhow, I've been working on my steampunk desktop mod and I need some advise/help.
I've converted the desktop tower into a nice brass/wood box. Sadly, when I took the components out and cleaned the power supply something has prevented it(the power supply) from working properly. Does anyone have a desktop/which still has a functioning power supply?
I've got keys from an old type writer, but not enough, and some bastard on ebay keeps outbidding me for extras. Anyone know how to sabotage ebayers?
Otherwise everything is going smoothly enough. | | Tuesday, December 4th, 2007 | | 10:41 am |
Meta Scam I've received this "Jury Duty Scam" email twice now and noticed there is a file attachment which I don't recognize. Although its true that the US Courts and FBI have issued warnings concerning identity theft, the alerts occurred in '05 and '06, so the "alert" seems a little delayed. If you want more info just go to the FBI site,( http://www.fbi.gov/page2/june06/jury_scams060206.htm) but I'd delete the email. | | Tuesday, October 30th, 2007 | | 1:41 pm |
you know you're in a big crowd when... ...You are 6'4" and you have trouble seeing the tops of a duckboat which is approximately 75 people (deep)away from you.
Screw this, I'll watch it on tv. | | Sunday, July 22nd, 2007 | | 1:53 pm |

On potter spoilers I recently learned that the book has leaked onto the web with photographs of text.
I'm taking a break from reading the LJ and from the web for a while because I don't want to accidentally come across any potter plot info in a random post.
I'll see you all back in a week or so. | | Tuesday, July 10th, 2007 | | 5:16 pm |

on stress induced carnivora I don't know why, but when I get stressed at work, I dream about bears or tigers. This night it was tigers, three of them. I managed to kill one, but two were left roaming around lurking and appearing to frighten me. | | Tuesday, June 5th, 2007 | | 11:33 am |
FCC gets spanked. Maybe this is apropos of LJs new crack-down on content, but For those of you who haven't heard the Appeals Court for the 2nd Circuit has slapped the Bush administration's crack-down on "fleeting expletives." Citing President Bush's own use of language, "get Syria to get Hezbola to stop doing this shit" and Dick Cheney's comment to Patrick Leahy "[go] Fuck Yourself" the Second Circuit found the administration's crackdown arbitrary and capricious. deathly hallows-
I'll take another stab and venture to guess that Halloween is involved. Halloween is the celtic newyear time. Perhaps there is significance in the wizzarding world for this as well? | | Monday, May 21st, 2007 | | 4:58 pm |

Speculating on Potter Art Here is the cover art for the new book. http://www.bordersmedia.com/harrypotter/spread.aspMy speculative two cents. It appears the two are in an arena or colusseum of sorts. It looks old with various cracks and ivy. There also is an audience present.. the figures are vague, possibly cloaked, death-eaters? Also signficant is that Harry is cloaked... (1) if he has left school, then these aren't school robes, (2) perhaps a disguise to blend in with death eaters? (3) or maybe he's just fallednm in with wizzard fashion and got himself a nice robe. Note well he is also wearing a satchel or bag around his neck. (1) possible talisman against voldemort? (2) possible horcrux? Harry seems to be attempting to catch or grasp something, Voldemort seems to be blocking it with his hand: (1) no wands present...this could be an attempt to catch: (a) a wand (b) horcrux (c) or something else yet to be revealed? Harry appears to be standing on broken rubble and wood: (1) possibly a broken alter, stage or theater? There appears to be a "Curtain" around the scene thoughts? | | Tuesday, March 6th, 2007 | | 5:18 pm |
Dark is rising For those who read Susan Cooper's Dark is Rising series, the film adaptation is scheduled for release in September(28) 2007.
Of interest is the casting of Christopher Eccles (Dr. Who) as the rider and Swearengen, I mean, Ian McShane, as Merriman. | | Friday, February 23rd, 2007 | | 3:47 pm |
